In electrophoretic coating, the workpiece acts as the cathode, and the paint particles carry positive charges. Under the action of the electric field, they move to the surface of the workpiece and deposit to form a coating.
The rectifier controls the electric field strength and paint deposition rate during the electrophoresis process by adjusting the output voltage and current. Generally speaking, a higher voltage can speed up the coating deposition rate, but it may also cause uneven coating thickness or defects such as pinholes; a lower voltage can obtain a more uniform coating, but the coating efficiency may be lower.
